Many materials are used in the insulation maintenance of exterior walls. How to determine the suitability of insulation materials for a project? From a technical perspective, the following aspects are mainly considered:
(1) Performance of external wall insulation materials:
The lower the thermal conductivity of the same insulation material, the thinner the design thickness, the lower the cost, and the fewer design issues for the joint. If the thermal conductivity is higher, the required thickness is greater, the possibility of forming the product is smaller, and the cost is higher.
(2) Stability of external wall insulation materials:
External wall insulation materials should have good stability. If used in engineering, the board is prone to warping and deformation, which can easily cause cracking and leakage in exterior wall decoration. Materials such as rock wool composite board, extruded polystyrene board, phenolic board, polyurethane insulation board, etc. must be obtained to achieve a reasonable aging cycle and avoid maximum deformation caused by system cracking and detachment
(3) Water absorption performance of external wall insulation materials:
When the external wall insulation material absorbs water, its insulation performance will be greatly reduced. Therefore, the insulation material used in this project should have a low water absorption rate. At present, rock wool board, phenolic board, and traditional insulation mortar are all highly absorbent materials. The actual insulation performance is far from theoretical effects.
(4) Quality and reliability of external wall insulation materials:
Ordinary insulation boards need to be spliced and nailed to the wall, with spliced joints and cold and hot bridges. Improper handling of spliced joints can affect the insulation effect; Like vacuum insulation boards, due to the leakage insulation performance of the board, traditional inorganic insulation mortar and polystyrene particle insulation mortar will be difficult to guarantee due to uneven mixing by on-site workers. Foam cement board, inorganic insulation board, etc. are easily broken on site, and the product quality cannot be controlled.
(5) Construction convenience of external wall insulation materials:
As a common insulation system, thin plastering system has mature construction technology, but many new materials do not have corresponding construction convenience. For example, vacuum insulation board, foam cement board and other boards are difficult to cut on site, and the size must be clear. Factory processing is customized. The basement walls have higher requirements for flatness.
