Construction of direct buried insulation pipe with polyethylene foam
2022-11-25

The construction of polyethylene foam direct buried insulation pipes requires a period of storage and stability before processing. Special environmental processing, polyethylene foam has the characteristics of low density, high specific strength, good insulation, simple molding process, corrosion resistance, and low water absorption. It is a synthetic material with low thermal conductivity, currently used in insulation engineering. Using polyethylene foam as the insulation layer for buried pipelines not only provides thermal insulation, but also effectively prevents water, moisture, and other corrosive liquids.

Polyethylene foam pipes do not require the construction of trenches, and insulation pipes can be buried underground, which reduces the project area, reduces excavation volume by more than 50%, and reduces soil volume, rock and concrete. The processing and on-site slotting of insulation pipes are all carried out in parallel. Polyethylene foam is used in various pipeline transportation, especially in the transportation of special media, in contemporary industries. Its reasonable design, pre fabricated molding, and one-time installation can achieve a long-term service life of 40-50 years or more.

The reason for the low water absorption of PE foamed directly buried insulation pipe construction is that the closed cell rate of polyurethane foam is up to 92%. Low thermal conductivity and low water absorption, combined with insulation layer and high-density polyethylene or fiberglass protective shell with good waterproof performance, have changed the traditional trench laying of heating pipelines. Polyethylene foaming does not require special treatment, greatly simplifying the process. If using rolls, a groove should be left at the parapet wall, and the end should be closed in the groove; If grooves cannot be left, flat iron sealing nails should be used to close the head, and joint sealant should be applied.
