The following is the installation process and technical points of flame retardant extruded polystyrene insulation board (XPS), combined with the latest national standards and construction specifications:
1、 Preparation before construction
Grassroots treatment
Remove impurities such as oil stains and release agents from the wall, repair and level the hollow areas, and apply interface agents to enhance the bonding strength of the base layer with high water absorption.
Pop up the horizontal control line (20mm away from the water level) and the position line of the deformation joint to ensure a reasonable layout.
Material acceptance
Check the density (≥ 25kg/m ³), thermal conductivity (≤ 0.030W/(m · K)), fire rating (B1 level) and other indicators of XPS board, which must comply with the requirements of GB/T 30595-2024.
Adhesive ratio: powder: water=1: 0.25 (mass ratio), mechanically stir until thick slurry, use up within 2 hours.
2、 Board installation process
Paste method
Point bonding method: Apply a 5cm wide adhesive tape (10mm thick) along the perimeter of the board, and arrange 8 bonding points (diameter ≥ 140mm) in the middle of the board surface, with a total bonding area of ≥ 40%.
Strip bonding method: suitable for substrates with poor flatness, adhesive strip width 5cm, spacing 200mm.
Installation steps
Lay horizontally from bottom to top, staggered by 1/2 of the board length, and connect with canine teeth at corners.
The four corners of the door and window openings shall be cut with a whole board, and the distance between the joints and the openings shall be ≥ 200mm.
The board seam should be ≤ 2mm, and the height difference should be ≤ 1mm. XPS strips should be used to fill or polish the areas that exceed the tolerance.
3、 Key node processing
Anchor fixation
High rise buildings require additional anchor bolts (6-8 per square meter), with an anchoring depth of ≥ 30mm and an anchor bolt distance of ≥ 80mm from the edge of the slab.
Fireproof reinforcement belt
A flame-retardant reinforcement strip with a width of ≥ 300mm shall be installed every 5m on the exterior wall, using Class A fire-resistant materials.
Seam sealing
The board joints are sealed with XPS special tape or foam adhesive to prevent thermal bridging effect.
4、 Construction of protective layer
Smear layer
The thickness of the plastering adhesive should be ≥ 5mm, and alkali resistant fiberglass mesh cloth (double-layer reinforcement) should be pressed in. The first layer of mesh cloth needs to be folded.
Acceptance criteria
The bonding strength is ≥ 0.1MPa (pull-out test), and the system's weather resistance has passed the GB/T 35169 test.
Precautions
The construction temperature should be between 5-35 ℃, and work should be avoided in rainy, snowy, and windy weather.
Moisture and deformation prevention are required during storage, and inflatable shock-absorbing frames are used for transportation.
The above process must strictly comply with the requirements of GB/T 30595-2024 and JGJ144 specifications.
