The structure of polyethylene PE foam
2022-11-28

Polyethylene PE foaming acts on the cross-linking produced by the material to change the original structure of the base material, forming a mesh independent closed-cell foam structure, thereby producing high-tech high-grade closed-cell foam materials. Polyethylene PE foaming can realize vacuum forming and thermoforming and other deep parts forming, so it can be used for automotive air-conditioning evaporation cabinets, automotive hot-pressed ceilings and other interior parts and shoe materials.

Polyethylene PE foaming

The open-cell foaming material has cells that are interconnected or completely interconnected, and can pass through single-dimensional or three-dimensional bodies or liquids, with a pore diameter of 0.5-3mm. Open-cell foaming materials have a special structure. The process control is very difficult, not only to ensure that the polypropylene melt is very fine particles, but also to ensure that they are not sticky to each other. The foaming process has low requirements for the strength of the polypropylene melt.

Although the process route of polyethylene PE foaming is long, in actual production, the method of mixing HDPE with MDPE or LDPE is often used to delay crystallization and change the fluidity of the material, so that the foaming material can both maintain It can maintain a certain degree of softness and improve strength. HDPE is mainly used as the base resin of low-ratio PE foamed sheets.

The polyethylene PE foam obtained by foaming contains two gas-solid components - gas and solid. The gas exists in the foam in the form of pores. The pores that are isolated from each other are called closed pores, and the connected pores are called open pores, so there are closed-cell foam plastics and open-cell foam plastics.

Polyethylene PE foam can be processed and formed to meet environmental protection requirements, so it is suitable for export products. Because polyethylene PE foam has irreplaceable advantages of other packaging materials, it is also often used in the shoe industry because of its good anti-slip effect.
